Context:

Chloe spends her days helping hospitality brands look good, stay relevant, and become the places people want to visit, order from, and talk about.

So when it came to Banquette’s website, she was prettyyyyyy particular about her vision.

She’d seen a lot of websites, had a sharp eye for branding and visuals, and knew exactly how she wanted Banquette to feel: minimal but dynamic, premium without the agency ego, and more like an editorial spread than a set of content blocks.

She also loved an “if you know, you know” experience.

The only snag with that? It works best when potential clients do, in fact, know.

Challenge:

Until now, Banquette had grown largely through word of mouth, which meant new clients often arrived with some understanding of the firm’s reputation and work.

A website reaching beyond those referrals couldn’t rely on that same built-in trust.

If we leaned too far into the “if you know, you know” experience Chloe loved, the site could be a viiiiiiibe, but potential clients may not fully understand what Banquette actually does.

And Banquette does a lot.

Like, a lot.

Most clients come for social media management, but the work usually expands into brand partnerships, influencer campaigns, events, merch, email marketing, graphic design, and whatever other “could you also…” request lands on Chloe’s desk.

Listing every possibility would turn the site into an exhausting service menu. Simplifying too far would make Banquette look like just another social media agency.

And because Chloe didn’t want to rely on traditional testimonials, the work itself had to create trust, while still fitting into a minimal, editorial one-page site.

So, no pressure or anything.

Solution:

During Chloe’s Starter Kit, we created a one-page website where the client work and visuals lead, and the copy knows when to back off.

On the copy side, Isobel didn’t try to explain every possible way Banquette could help. She’d still be writing the services section now if she did.

Instead, she skipped the part where we explain to Chloe’s audience why marketing matters (they already know) and jumped straight to what Banquette can do, with social media management as a clear entry point and à la carte support for everything else.

On the design side, Samara got to show off MORE than a little.

Horizontal scrolls, pinned backgrounds, layered imagery, and moving elements gave Chloe the dynamic experience she wanted. Oversized typography, collage-style layouts, paper-inspired details, and the tear-tab contact section made the site feel more like an editorial piece you could touch than a standard Squarespace website.

The result still has the IYKYK feeling Chloe wanted, but you don’t have to be in the know to understand it.

Results:

Chloe went from knowing she wasn’t even close to putting her best foot forward online to saying, “I AM SO PROUD OF IT.”

She also came out of the project excited to “get her shit together and keep doing stuff,” which is exactly the kind of post-launch energy we like to see.

The copy is already living beyond the website too. Chloe had her designer create new Banquette stickers using wording from the site to give the business a bank of phrases she can keep using as the brand grows.

When it came to her final review, Chloe took a short break from understated cool and made sure everyone was firmly in the know by saying:

“THEY ARE THE BEST!! WORK WITH THEM.”

Happy Rider:

“I could tell from talking to you guys that you caught my drift and that you were excited by the same things I was when it came to this project.”

“Samara’s business coaching and graphic design skills on top of website design made her an amazing choice. And from the questions Isobel asked me, I had complete confidence she could nail my voice!”
